NephoScale Introduction

The platform has been designed from the ground up to be more automated, flexible, and easy-to-use than any other public cloud services platform available. It's advanced orchestration tools allow users to manage all resources, applications stacks, code, and their associated dependencies in an easy-to-use and centralized fashion

Connectivity consists of three tier 1 carriers, and a private peering exchange. Circuits consist of multiple 1Gbps and 10Gbps links. Each redundant border router is multi-homed to carriers/upstream providers and is dual homed to the NephoScale Elastic Network access layer.

The starter package is intended as a way for users to become familiar with NephoScale’s time saving features and advanced infrastructure cloud services. All new registered users are eligible to deploy free of charge for 1 year a CS025 Cloudlet virtual server that comes with 256MB RAM and 50GB per month of outbound data transfer, and 5GB of ObjectStor cloud storage.

NephoScale's Elastic Networking technology provides a single broadcast domain for all virtual and physical compute resources within a given account, and provides private secure access to object-based cloud storage. With Elastic Networking customers can create more complex networked environments that support popular features like multicast, tagged VLANs, and multiple ports per server.

CloudScript is a domain specific language that is designed to address the application lifecycle management challenges today's organizations face. Now with CloudScript orchestration technology, users can easily optimize an application’s delivery performance in a continuous and iterative cycle at every stage of its development evolution in a more error free and predictable way.

NephoScale’s Cloudlet server node architecture leverages a uniquely tuned combination of CPU, RAM, high performance disk subsystem, and RAID card in order to maximize performance.  We optimize the number and type of disks based on the amount of RAM installed and the hypervisor of choice.  The performance of the Cloudlet sever node architecture continues to be fine tuned to maximize performance.

NephoScale customers can leverage single click templates located in the CloudScript template library. The NephoScale prepackaged templates represent a collection of resources, corresponding application stacks, and associated scripts/recipes. Create a small single server set-up to a complex multi server environment, that includes a load balanced LAMP stack with associated object-based cloud storage.

NephoScale truly delivers automated on-demand dedicated systems that are perfect for demanding applications like large databases or  memcache. Self provisioning your own on-demand BareMetal Dedicated Server takes less than 20 minutes. All of our dedicated servers are available with SSD drives for ultra high performance exceeding 50,000 IOPs and 1.3  Gbps sequential write speeds.

The API is used for programmatically manipulating cloud infrastructure over HTTP, and is the most granular level of control over the  NephOS cloud platform. Its most typical use is for provisioning and managing servers and storage. The NephoScale Admin CLI provides an additional convenient way to access the NephoScale API.

The NephoScale ObjectStor object-based cloud storage service acts as a highly fault tolerant vault to compliment your cloud computing resources. The cloud storage slices (partitions) can be used for storing server images, application templates, scripts, recipes, or any type of bulk archival content.
