Introduction
This free starter package is intended to create an easy way for users to become familiar with NephoScale’s NephOS cloud platform and time saving orchestration technology called CloudScript. All new registered users are eligible to deploy a CS025 Cloudlet virtual server and 5GB of ObjectStor cloud storage for free for the duration of 1 year.

Free Cloudlet Virtual Server Offer Includes:
- One NephoScale cloud server supporting multiple SSH/SFTP logins and root access
- 256MB of total cloud server memory (RAM) available
- 750 hours per month cloud server usage
- 10GB of total cloud server disk space
- 50GB of inbound Internet transfer per month
- 50GB of outbound Internet transfer per month
- Out-of-band Clientless In-browser VNC Console Access with Reverse SSH
- Direct root access to underlying operating system to create/modify Cron jobs and define/modify Bootup Actions
- Support for all standard open source command line utilities, editors, version control tools, etc.
- Data Transfer In charges for usage above 50GB free allotment: FREE
- Data Transfer Out charges for usage above 50GB free allotment: $0.10/GB
Free ObjectStor Object-based Cloud Storage Offer Includes:
- 5GB data store in the NephoScale ObjectStor Cloud Storage Service
- 10,000 GET requests in object-base cloud storage per month
- 1,000 PUT requests in object-based cloud storage per month
- 10GB of inbound Internet transfer from to object-based cloud storage per month
- 10GB of outbound Internet transfer object-based cloud storage per month
- Free data transfer between cloud server and cloud storage
- GET requests charges for usage above the 10,000 per month free allotment: $0.01 per 10,000 requests
- PUT requests charges for usage above the 1,000 per month free allotment: $0.01 per 1,000 requests
- Data Transfer In charges for usage above 10GB per month free allotment: FREE
- Data Transfer Out charges for usage above 10GB per month free allotment: $0.10/GB
- Additional cloud storage beyond 5GB free allotment: $0.12/GB per month
* There are no charges for GET/PUT requests or data transfer between NephoScale Cloudlet Virtual Servers, BareMetal On-Demand Dedicated Servers, or ObjectStor Cloud Storage. GET/PUT request and data transfer charges related to Cloud Storage only apply to interaction with the ObjectStor cloud storage from outside the NephoScale network. Usage beyond the free allotments will be subject to NephoScale’s standard usage rates, which can be found on the NephoScale website in the cloud storage pricing details. Because there is the possibility that additional usage charges could exist, a valid credit card is required to sign up. NephoScale’s Free Cloud Starter Package expires 1 year from the date of a customer’s sign-up. After expiration, you will be charged standard usage rates on all items, and the hourly usage rate for the 256MB cloud server will be $.02/hr. If you would like to continue using the CS025 256MB RAM cloud server beyond the 1 year “free period” you must agree to the NephoScale terms of service, otherwise the cloud server will be terminated on the 1 year expiration date and will be unavailable for further use. You will have the option to pay an annual membership fee to receive the 50% off hourly membership pricing.

The following operating systems are available for use on the CS025 free cloud server:

- Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS 64-bit – base image
Getting Started
- NephoScale cloud services are intended to be self-managed; basic systems administrator skills are necessary to utilize the services.
- Login to the NephoScale portal here.
- Please submit all technical support requests from within your NephoScale portal.
- For technical questions regarding set-up and operation of NephoScale cloud services visit our knowledgebase here.
- In the add cloud server set-up window, select “CS025 – 0.25GB, 10GB” from the cloud server type drop down list.
- For object-based cloud storage, you can create a slice and your first 5GB of data stored will be free of charge.
- The NephoScale Free Cloud Computing and Storage Starter Package does not include system administration support, although technical support will be provided for any system errors or suggested improvements.
